Who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved.
We got started around October 2022.
Since then we've been working to build community support for trails and a strong foundation for our organization so that we can sustain our future trails for the long-term.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and we are 100% volunteer run.
We've been building and maintaining mountain biking and hiking trails at Braddock's Trail Park, and are considering other locations as well.
For shared-use paths (paved or crushed limestone), our long-term goal is to connect downtown Irwin north to the Westmoreland Heritage Trail in Trafford and south to the Great Allegheny Passage.
That will take a while, so in the short-term, we're exploring smaller segments of these routes close to Downtown Irwin as candidates for our first shared-use trail.
No route has been secured and there are no construction plans today. A study of the Trolley Line Trail begins in the fall of 2026 and will be completed by the summer of 2027 — it will gather public input, assess whether the trail is feasible, and estimate what it would cost to build.
